    Garlic Pita Chips

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 1-1/2 tsp minced garlic
    • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
    • 4 (5- to 6-inch) white or whole wheat pita breads, split


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 400 degrees (F).

    2. Melt butter over low heat with garlic and pepper in a small saucepan. Lightly brush butter mixture onto cut side of pita halves.

    3. Cut each pita half into 6 wedges and place, buttered side up, on a large cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes, until toasted. (Can be made ahead. Wrap well and store at room temperature up to 2 days.)

      Serve with Sesame-White Bean Dip, if desired. (See separate recipe under Appetizers category.)

      Makes 48 chips.
