    Ginger-Glazed Almonds

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
    • 3 Tbsp packed brown sugar
    • 2 Tbsp water
    • 1 Tbsp finely grated peeled fresh ginger
    • 1-1/4 tsp kosher salt
    • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
    • 1/4 tsp cayenne
    • 2 cups whole almonds with skins


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees (F). Melt butter in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over moderate heat.

    2. Add remaining ingredients (except almonds) and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, then add almonds and stir until well coated.

    3. Spread almonds in a lightly oiled shallow (1 inch deep) baking pan and bake, stirring occasionally, until insides of nuts are golden, about 25 minutes. Cut one open to test. Cool completely.

      Makes 2 cups.
