    The Sisters Restaurant Tortilla Soup

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 to 4 onions, diced
    • 27 ounces canned diced green chiles
    • 1 to 2 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
    • 2 Tbsp oil
    • 3 to 4 Tbsp ground cumin
    • 12 to 13 cups pureed tomatoes
    • 8 cups chicken stock
    • Tortilla chips
    • Grated Cheddar cheese


    Instructions


    1. In a large soup pot or kettle, saute onion, chiles and jalapenos in oil; add cumin and saute 5 minutes longer.

    2. Stir in pureed tomatoes and chicken stock; bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.

    3. Meanwhile, place some tortilla chips in bottom of soup bowls. When soup is ready, ladle over tortilla chips and top with grated cheese.
