Bacon Biscuits

List of Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 3 slices bacon, cooked, drained, and crumbled
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- In a large bowl cut the shortening and flour together until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Stir in the crumbled bacon. Add the milk and stir briefly until just blended.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead a few times until smooth. Roll out the dough to a 1/2-inch thickness and cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes about 12 biscuits.
