    How-To: Freshen Stale Bread

    Source of Recipe

    Cook's Illustrated

It is not unusual for one-half or one-third of a loaf of bread to go uneaten at a meal. When you reach for the leftover the next day, you find that it has begun to go stale.

George Locker of New York revives his stale bread by placing it inside a brown paper bag, sealing the bag, and moistening a portion of the outside of the bag with water. After placing it in a preheated 350° oven for about 5 minutes, the bread will emerge warm and soft.
