    Collard Greens with Ham Hocks

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. fresh collard greens
    • 4 smoked ham hocks
    • Crushed red pepper
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • Hot sauce, to taste


    Instructions


    1. Cut and thoroughly wash greens.

    2. Place in a large stock pot with ham hocks, crushed red pepper and enough water to cover. Simmer over medium flame for about 2 hours, until greens are tender.

    3. Remove from flame and add salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste. Serve with sliced red onion for garnish.

      Makes 4 to 6 servings.
