    Steamed Green Beans

    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 lbs. green beans
    • 1 red pepper
    • Green onions
    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • Salt
    • Pepper


    Instructions


    1. Wash and trim the beans. Slice the pepper into long strips. Gather approximately 10 beans of similar size and one slice of red pepper into a bunch. Tie them together using strips of green onion tops. Repeat this procedure until all the beans are "packaged."

    2. Place the green bean bundles in a steamer basket and place over boiling water. Steam the beans approximately 20 minutes or until tender but not soft.

    3. Place the cooked bean packages on a serving platter and drizzle with the butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
