    Teriyaki Broccoli

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. broccoli
    • 1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger
    • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
    • 2 tsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp finely grated orange peel
    • Pinch hot red pepper flakes
    • 1 tsp rice vinegar
    • 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
    • Lime wedges


    Instructions


    1. Cut the broccoli into florets. Peel the stems and cut on the diagonal into 1/4-inch slices.

    2. In a small saucepan, combine the ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, grated orange peel, red pepper flakes, rice vinegar and butter. Place over medium-low heat until the butter has melted. Keep warm.

    3. Steam the broccoli over boiling water until just tender, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain the broccoli, shaking off the excess moisture; place in a bowl. Pour the teriyaki mixture over the broccoli and stir to coat. Squeeze lime over the broccoli and serve.

      Makes 4 servings.
