Teriyaki Broccoli

- 1 lb. broccoli
- 1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp finely grated orange peel
- Pinch hot red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
- Lime wedges
Instructions
- Cut the broccoli into florets. Peel the stems and cut on the diagonal into 1/4-inch slices.
- In a small saucepan, combine the ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, grated orange peel, red pepper flakes, rice vinegar and butter. Place over medium-low heat until the butter has melted. Keep warm.
- Steam the broccoli over boiling water until just tender, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain the broccoli, shaking off the excess moisture; place in a bowl. Pour the teriyaki mixture over the broccoli and stir to coat. Squeeze lime over the broccoli and serve.
Makes 4 servings.
