Ginger Snaps

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon gingerRecipe
Cream shortening and sugar together. Add egg and molasses. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger.
Add to shortening mixture. Mix and chill. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Roll balls in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookies sheets.
Bake at 350 F for 9 minutes.
