    1 cup all purpose flour
    1 cup pecans
    1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, at room temperature
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    for decoration: powdered sugar

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 300 F. Have ungreased cookie sheets ready.

    Process flour and pecans in a food processor or blender until nuts are very finely chopped.

    Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer until pale and fluffy. With mixer on low speed, gradually beat in flour mixture just until blended.

    Roll level tablespoonfuls dough into balls. Place about 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.

    Bake for 45 minutes or until golden. While warm, roll in powered sugar. Place on wire rack to cool completely, then roll in powdered sugar again. Store airtight up to 2 weeks or freeze.
