Recipe Introduction
Pizza Crust
List of Ingredients
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 envelope active dry yeast
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/4 cups flour, reserved
Recipe
Dissolve sugar in water. Then sprinkle yeast over it and let stand for 10 minutes. Then stir briskly with a fork.
In a large bowl combine yeast mixture with the remaining ingredients except for the second amount of reserved flour. Beat vigorously by hand. Then gradually beat in with a spoon the second amount of reserved flour. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead 8-10 minutes. Shape into a small ball and place in a greased bowl, rotating dough to grease surface. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled (about 3/4 hour) in a warm place. Punch dough down and roll to fit a cookie sheet or pizza pan. Add your own favorite toppings.
*NOTE: If you find that the dough is a bit sticky when you go to knead it, just add a bit more flour until you get the consistency you want.
