List of Ingredients
* 3 apples (I used Honeycrisp yummmm they are sweet )
* a bit of cooking spray (ok, so you can skip this if you want... these suckers were HUGE)
* a sprinkle of cinnamon (to taste - think I used about 1/2 tsp))
* a sprinkle of apple pie spice (again, to taste -- think i used 1/2 tsp)
* vanilla extract ( i used about 1 tsp cuz i love it)
* maple extract (ok, optional but darn good.. used about 1/2 tsp)
* butter flavoring extract (again, optional but added flavor.. used about 1/2 tsp).
* Splenda (again, to taste.. I probably used about 1/3 cup or so of the pourable stuff) -- suppose you could also use brown sugar twin instead at the end of cooking..Recipe
Take the apples and quarter them.. cut out the core/seeds (I left the skin on mine for extra vitamins). Then slice them very thin (I did it the short way rather than lengthwise so I had smaller slices that cooked faster). Heat a large skillet over med. high heat and spray with cooking spray if using. Dump the apples into your skillet and sprinkle with the other ingredients.. Stir well to comine. Let saute, stirring somewhat often, so the spices get evenly distributed and the apples all cook evenly. This ends up tasting like apple pie filling and you end up with a bit of cinnamony juice at the end.. YUM .. good for any meal calling for fruit B, and you can sometimes substitute apples for your carbs don't forget.. I love this stuff heated up... would also taste good with a tiny spray of that butter spray stuff but hey, you can skip that part too... ENJOY!!
