Morning Pecan Casserole

- 1 8oz pkg brown and serve sausage patties
- 1 16 oz loaf raisin bread, cubed
- 6 eggs
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 1 1/2 c half and half
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 c packed brown sugar
- 1 c coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
- 2 TBP maple syrup or maple flavored syrup
Instructions
- In a medium skillet brown the sausage over med-high heat. Drain off fat, cut patties into bite size pieces.
- Spray a 9x13 (3qt) baking dish with non stick spray. Place bread cubes in dish. Add browned sausage pieces.
- In a lg mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, cream, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
- For topping, combine brown sugar, pecans, butter and syrup. Drop by teaspoonfuls over top of egg mixture.
- Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
