    Chocolate Almond Cheesecake

    1 1/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
    1 1/2 c. sugar divided
    1/2 c. + 2 T cocoa divided
    1/4 c. Butter, melted
    2 pkgs cream cheese (8 oz each), softened
    1 c. sour cream
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 t. almond extract divided
    1 c. heavy cream
    1/4 c. powdered sugar
    1/4 c. sliced almonds toasted

    Combine crumbs, 1/4 c. sugar, 2 T cocoa and butter. Mix well and press into bottom of 9" spring form pan. Chill.
    In mixing bowl beat cream cheese, sour cream and remaining sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in 1 t. almond extract and remaining cocoa. Pour into crust. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes until center is almost set. Cool completely. Refrigerate for 8 hours. In bowl, beat whipping cream and powdered sugar, and remaining extract until soft peaks form. Spread over cheese cake. Sprinkle with almonds, store in refrigerator.
