unbaked pie shell
3 large eggs or 6 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 2/3 c. milkRecipe
Beat eggs slightly. Beat in sugar, salt, nutmeg, and milk. Pour in chilled pastry.
Bake 45 minutes (or until silver knife come out clean) Hot oven for 15 minutes (450), moderate oven (350) to finish.
For coconut custard pie substitute 1 t. vanilla for nutmeg and add 1 c. coconut. Put little coconut on top.
