    List of Ingredients




    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 t. salt
    1 t. cinnamon
    1 t. soda
    1 t baking powder
    1 c. buttermilk

    Topping
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 t. cinnamon
    1/4 t. nutmeg
    1/2 c. nuts OR 1 c. dates, cut-up

    Recipe



    Cream together sugars and shortening. Add eggs, flour, salt, cinnamon,soda and baking powder and beat well. Add buttermilk. Spread in a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with topping. Put in refrigerator overnight. The next day bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
