    1/2 c. cocoa
    1/2 c. water, boiling
    2 c. cake flour
    1 t. soda
    1 t. baking powder
    1/2 t. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 egg yolks
    1 t. vanilla
    2 egg whites
    3/4 c. sour milk

    Recipe



    Sift dry ingredients, cream shortening and add sugar and cream. Add unbeaten egg yolks to shortening and beat well. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately. Mix well. Add cocoa mixture and beat well. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and fold in.
