    2 1/4 c. flour
    3 t. baking powder
    1 t. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. milk
    1 t. vanilla
    2 eggs

    Recipe



    Grease two 9" layer pans or one 9x13" pan and preheat oven to 375.
    Stir shortening to soften. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add 3/4 c. milk and mix until the flour is dampened, then beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and remaining milk. Beat 1 minutes on slow speed. Bake in layer pans for 25-35 minutes.
