    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 t. soda
    1 t. vanilla
    4 c. flour

    Filling:
    1/2 lb dates
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water

    Recipe



    Roll to 1/2 inch. Spread with cooled filling.

    Filling:
    Boil together till thick. Spread over cookie dough. Roll like jelly roll. Place in refrigerate 2 hours slice and bake.
