List of Ingredients
1 c. cracked wheat 1 c. brown sugar
5 c. bran cereal 6 eggs
2 c. boiling water 5 c. flour
1 qt. buttermilk 5 t. soda
1 c. shortening 1 T. salt
2 c. sugar
Recipe
In large mixing bowl, mix together cracked wheat, bran and water and let stand. Add 1 quart buttermilk. In medium bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time beating well. Add to bran mixture. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Add to rest in large bow, stirring just enough to blend. Bake at 400*, for 15-20 minutes, or cook in microwave for about 1-2 minutes. Keep covered in refrigerator, Keeps up to 30 days.
