"Ginger - Sugar Cookies"

This is Randie's favorite cookie! These cookies are great warmed with a dollup of vanilla ice cream on top!
List of Ingredients
2 c. sifted Flour
2 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Cinnamon
1 t. ground Cloves
1 t. Ginger
1/4 t. Salt
1 1/3 c. Sugar
3/4 c. soft Crisco
1/4 c. Light Molasses
1 EggRecipe
Sift flour with soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt, set aside. In large bowl gradually add 1 c. sugar to shortening (using electric mixer). Cream til light and fluffy, about 5 min. Blend in molasses and egg. At low speed , beat in flour mixture just until well mixed. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375. Pinch off pieces of dough; shape into 1-1/4" balls. Roll in remaining sugar. Place 2-1/2 in. apart on cookie sheets; bake 8 - 10 min. or until golden brown.
