Recipe Introduction

1 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Salt
1 C. Shortening (I use Crisco)

1 t. Vanilla extract
2 Eggs
1 12 oz. Pkg (2 cups) Semi Sweet Chocolate Pieces
1 C. chopped Nuts (Optional)Recipe
Preheat oven to 375. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda & salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract; beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate pieces & nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 - 10 minutes.
