I've been making this recipe for years. We always love it!
List of Ingredients
- 1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled
- 1 large onion
- 1 yellow or green bell pepper
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 1 tbsp. chopped garlic
- Mr. Tony Chachere's creole seasoning to taste
- about 1 tbsp or less sugar
Instructions
- Saute onions bell pepper and garlic in small amount of olive oil over med. low heat about 8 minutes.
- Add canned tomatoes with liquid. Add sugar and some creole seasoning.
- Simmer about 30 minutes.
- Add peeled shrimp and cook about 5 minutes till shrimp are pink. Adjust seasoning.
- This is best is allowed to sit off the fire for a bit to let the flavors really mingle.
- Serve over hot cooked rice!
