Recipe Introduction
Frogmore stew is a mixture of sausage, potatoes, corn and shrimp, seasoned ith Old Bay(best) or another seafood boil!
List of Ingredients
- 1/4 + cup Old Bay Seasoning
- 4 lbs. small red potatoes
- 2 lbs. smoked sausage or andouille, cut in 1/2" slices
- 6-8 ears fresh ears corn, halved
- 3 lbs. large shrimp, I prefer head on!
- 5 lemons, squeezed and thrown in
- 3-4 onions halved
- 3-4 heads garlic cut in half
- Louisiana Hot Sauce
- Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning to taste
Instructions
- Fill large pot about halfway with water. Add Old Bay, lemons, garlic, onions, Mr. Tony's and Hot sauce. Taste the water, if it's SPICY, it's right.
- Bring to a boil on an outdoor propane cooker.
- Add potatoes, return to a boil and cook 10 minutes.
- Add sausage and corn; return to a boil and cook 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Add shrimp; cook 3-5 minutes or until shrimp are pink.
- Remove with a slotted spoon. Serve with additional Old Bay and cocktail sauce
