Brownie Pudding

1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 t. salt
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 t (double-acting) baking powder
1 T. shortening, melted
1 T. of cocoa
1/2 t. of vanilla
1/4 c. chopped nuts
SEPERATE MIXTURE
1/2 c. of brown sugar, firmly packed
2 Tablespoons cocoa
3/4 c. boiling water
Recipe
Sift flour once, measure and add baking powder, salt, sugar, cocoa and sift again.
Add milk, shortening and vanilla, mix till smooth, add nuts, turn into greased baking dish or pan.
Mix brown sugar and cocoa of second list together, sprinkle over the batter, then pour boiling water over top of the batter.
This makes a chocolate sauce in the bottom of the pan after the pudding is baked.
Bake at 350 F, for 30 to 40 minutes.
