    Tempura Batter

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tbsp. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. milk
    1 tbsp. melted butter

    Recipe

    Beat eggs, mix in milk and melted butter. Mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Stir into egg mixture. Mix until smooth. Heat fat in fryer to 360 degrees.

    Dip vegetables, fish, and shrimp into tempura batter and place in strainer in fry basket to drain off excess batter. Place in fry basket, filling only 1/3 full. Stir occasionally to keep items from sticking together. Fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

    CAUTION: Filling the basket more than 1/3 full may cause grease to bubbly up and overflow when tempura is placed inside.
