This is an old Fashioned Candy.


List of Ingredients




3 cups light brown sugar
1 cup water
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 eggs whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup broken nut meats

Recipe



Mix sugar, water and vinegar in a sauce pan and place over low heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Cook to soft ball stage (238 degrees). Beat egg whites and salt until stiff. Pour syrup over in a thin stream, beating constantly. Place bowl over (not in) boiling water and beat until it is thick and creamy. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into an oiled or buttered platter. Cut into squares while still hot.
