Beef Noodle Casserole

2 lb lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic, pressed
1 large onion, chopped fine
2 15-oz cans tomato sauce
1 Tbsp dried basil
1 8-10 oz pkg egg noodles
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
Recipe
In a 10-12 inch skillet over medium heat, stir beef until crumbly and browned; drain. Stir in garlic, onion, basil and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer 30 minutes to blend flavors. Cook noodles in salted water for about 8 minutes; drain. Spoon meat mixture into a 13x9 casserole dish; top evenly with noodles. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Whip the cream cheese, sour cream, and milk; pour over noodles. Bake, covered, in a 350 F oven until heated through (about 20-30 minutes). Can be made a day ahead and chilled. If so, allow 1 hour to cook in oven.
