1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup molasses
1 egg
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 teaspoons McCormick® Ground Ginger
2 teaspoons McCormick Ground® Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Allspice
1/4 teaspoon salt
Recipe
1. Cream vegetable shortening and sugar with electric mixer. Add molasses and egg; beat well.
2. With a spoon, stir in flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Dough will be stiff. Cover and chill 1 hour.
3. Roll out dough on lightly floured cutting board to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut dough with cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree F oven 10 minutes. Decorate as desired.
