    Square: Candy Cane Brownies

    List of Ingredients

    2/3 cup butter
    8 ounce semisweet chocolate, chopped
    4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
    1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup all purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt

    Topping:
    1/2 cup crushed candy canes
    2/3 cup mini chocolate chips

    Recipe

    Line a 9x13 inch metal pan with parchment paper.

    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, semisweet chocolate and unsweetened chocolate. Let cool for 10 minutes. Whisk in sugar, then eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Whisk in vanilla. Using a wooden spoon, stir in flour and salt. Scrape into the prepared pan.

    Bake in a 350 degree oven until cake tester inserted in centre comes out with a few moist crumbs still clinging, about 25-30 minutes.

    For the topping, sprinke with chopped candy canes then chocolate chips. Return to oven for 30 seconds (do not let topping melt) Let cool comletely in pan on rack. Makes about 40 bars.
