Cinnamon Fried Apples

1/3 cup butter
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
1 TBLsp. plus 1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1-1/2 cups water
4 apples, peeled, cored and halvedRecipe
Melt butter in a 10" skillet over medium heat, stir in sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon; mix well. Stir in water and apples, and cook, covered, over medium heat for 12 to 15 minutes, or until apples are tender and sauce is thick. Spoon sauce over apples before serving. Makes 4 servings.
