Making your own fruit leather is a great way to use extra fruit and gives you control over the ingredients.
List of Ingredients
Dry in oven at 140 degrees F for 1-2 hours with oven door open 2-inches.
2 cups fruit
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juiceRecipe
Use fully ripe fruit. Clean fruit as necessary by washing, removing skin, pitting and chopping. Combine with the sugar and lemon juice. Boil, reduce heat and simmer until fruit is softened. Puree in a food processor or blender. Line a cookie sheet with greased foil and pour puree to a 1/4-inch thickness. Dry in the oven until leathery and non-sticky. Store in fridge or freezer.
