24 Hour Dills

6 stalks fresh dill weed 5 or 6 cloves peeled garlic 2-1/4 to 2-3/4 lbs cucumbers with ends trimmed.
Boil water, vinegar and salt. Place in large crock or jar. Layer dill, garlic and cucumbers.
Pour boiling syrup over all and let stand for 24 hours then refrigerate.
