Cabbage Salad

List of Ingredients
1-1/2 heads cabbage, shredded
2 medium sized onions, finely sliced
1/2 cup salt
Mix together. Cover with boiling water and let stand overnight. Next day squeeze the cabbage and put in large bowl. Chop:
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 cup celery
1 cup shredded carrots
Add all the ingredients to cabbage. Mix.
Syrup:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 cup oil
Bring to a boil except oil. Pour hot over cabbage. Mix, then pour oil and mix again. Put in jars. Keep in fridge. Keeps for 3 months. Makes 3 quarts.Recipe
