Brownies à l'Orange

1/3 C. butter
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 C. sugar
1 tsp. orange extract
1 tsp. freshly grated orange zest 2 eggs
3/4 C. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Recipe
Melt the chocolate and the butter together in a double boiler; add the extract and the zest. Beat into this the sugar and eggs. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together, and stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread into a well-greased 8x8x2" pan and bake at 350F for about 30-35 minutes. If you're frosting the brownies, use orange extract in the frosting as well.
Serving Suggestions:
Have them waiting for the kids when they come home from school, with a cold glass of milk.
