DIRT CUPS
Source of Recipe
I got this from a friend but it on line too.
Recipe Introduction
I made this recipe (as noted) for my daughter's school birthday. She has approx 60 students in her class. This is great for kids birthday party or any kid event. Be sure to tell the younger kids this is NOT real dirt!
List of Ingredients
2 18.25 oz chocolate cake
2 large pkg of oreos
3 large (36 oz) cool whip
milk
4 large pkg Instant pudding (I used 3 chocolate and vanilla)
gummy wormsRecipe
This recipe makes 60 count dirt cups using 7 oz clear disposable glasses.
Bake the cake according to directions and let cool.
Prepare the instant pudding according to directions and let set.
Put the oreos into a blender, food processor or you can place them into a zip lock bag and use a hand roller to "crumble" the oreos into fine dirt appearance.
Cut the cake into cube size squares. Set aside.
To ASSEMBLE Dirt Cakes:
Put about 1 T OREOS at bottom of each glass
Put about 1/2" or so layer of cubed cake
Put approx 2 T of pudding (cover cake) into each glass
Put cool whip on next.
Sprinke top with crushed oreos for dirt appearance
(NOTE above part needs to be refrigerated if made in advance)
Suggestion: Buy a cheap cake mix for this.
Insert gummy worms into the dirt last (before serving)
NOTE: you should refrigerate this to keep ingredients firm but the first two layers could be done in advance by covering with flour sack or similar towels to keep cake moist.
