    6 sweet potatoes or yams (up to 8) (8 to 12
    oz each)
    to taste butter or margarine
    Gravy -- see Easy Gravy recipe
    salt and pepper

    Recipe



    1. Scrub potatoes and pierce in several places with a fork. Place on oven rack or in a single layer on a baking sheet.

    2. Bake in a 325º to 350º oven until potatoes give readily when gently squeezed, about 1 1/2 hours. Slit open; season to taste with butter, gravy, and salt and pepper.

    Makes: 6 to 8 servings.
