Tomato Ketchup
1/2 bushel ripe tomatoes, cut up
1 quart vinegar
1 cup salt (canning)
3 cups red and green bell peppers, chopped fine
2 pounds light brown sugar
2 tablespoons allspice
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 tablespoon cinnamon
6 large onions, chopped fine
Tie spices in a piece of cheesecloth. Combine with remaining ingredients and boil until it can be forced thru a colander. Boil again until thickened. Seal in sterilized bottles or jars.
