Mincemeat-Filled Apples
8 baking apples
1 cup prepared brandied mincemeat
1 cup water
1 tablespoon slivered almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons brandy
1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
Core apples and pare a strip from the top of each apple. Place apples in a baking dish; fill each apple with mincemeat. Pour water into baking dish around apples. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50-60 minutes.
Stir nuts and brandy into the whipped topping. Spoon on top of each warm baked apple and serve.
