Baked Sweet and Spicy Chicken
3 pound roasting chicken, cut up
1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup water
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
In baking dish (13x9-inch), arrange the chicken pieces, skin side up, in a single layer. In bowl, mix together ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and chili powder. Pour over chicken. Bake uncovered, in preheated 400° oven for 1 hour. Basting midway thru baking. Remove chicken and keep warm in low oven; skim any excess fat from sauce. Reheat sauce and pour over chicken, if necessary.
