    Hot Vanilla Sauce

    1 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    2 cups boiling water
    4 tablespoons butter
    2-1/4 teaspoons vanilla

    Stir sugar and cornstarch gradually into boiling water. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Lower heat and simmer; add butter and vanilla. Keep hot.

    Place peach half in dessert glass; top with ball of vanilla ice cream and pour some hot vanilla sauce over that. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
