Recipe Introduction
Light, flakey, crunchy dessert with powdered sugar on top. These do not keep well, they get soft. Make the night before you need them and cover loosely with Saran Wrap or Foil.
List of Ingredients
4 eggs yolks
1 egg white
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. rum
1 cup flour
Recipe
Add salt to eggs and beat for 10 minutes. Add sugar and flavoring and beat until well blended. Fold in the flour. Transfer to a well-floured board and knead until the dough blisters. Cut in halves, roll very thin and cut into strips about 4 inches long. Slit each piece in center and carefully pull one end through the slit.
Fry in hot fat until lightly browned. Do not crowd ni pot. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
