Moma's Chocolate Pie

* 4 eggs, separated - save whites for meringue.
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 TBSP flour
3 TBSP baking cocoa
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups milk
1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup)
Recipe
Melt butter in saucepan; add milk and bring to a slow boil. Combine flour and cocoa and gradually add to milk mixture. Add sugar and vanilla. Bring to a boil and cook until thichened, about 10 minutes, stirring constantly to keep from sticking.
Pour in cooked pie shell. Meringue: Beat egg whites until peaks, add 1 tsp sugar is desired. Spread evenly on top of chocolate mixture.
Put in HOT preheated 450 degree (F) oven for 10 min or until meringue is lightly browned.
* Save egg yolks for another use or discard.
