1. Cut stems from figs, wash thoroughly, and mash to a pulp with a potato masher.
2. Place figs and sugar into a large pot then add the gelatin.
3. Mix well.
4. Cook over medium heat until mixture starts to bubble.
5. Reduce heat to low and cook about 15 minutes.
6. Stir often to prevent sticking.
7. Pour into jars and seal.
8. Process for 10 minutes in a hot water bath.
