    Corn and Bean Dip

    List of Ingredients

    From the kitchen of Dawn D (The Dodge Family Circus)

    This was adapted from a recipe Martha Stewart had... gees, I didn't grow my own beans or throw my own pot to bake it in though, so Martha would be disappointed! (hee hee)

    2 cups corn (canned, fresh, or frozen)
    2 cups black beans (canned, rinsed well)
    1 small onion, diced
    1 tomato, diced
    3 Tbs butter or Crisco
    about 2 Tbs green scallions
    1/2 tsp garlic powder, more or less to taste
    1 tsp hot sauce

    Recipe

    In a large saucepan, add fat; combine and add first four ingredients and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes. Add garlic powder and hot sauce. Blend well and transfer to serving dish.

    Allow to cool, then top with scallions for garnish.
