Irish Chicken
2 md Onions; sliced
1 whole chicken
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 c Brown sugar; packed
2 ts Orange peel; finely shredded
4 lbs potatoes, cut in quarters
6 Whole cloves
6 Cabbage wedges
Place onions in crockpot. Wash chciekn and pat dry. If needed, cut into pieces to fit into crockpot; place on top of onions.
In a bowl, combinevinegar, orange peel, and cloves; pour over chicken and onions. Cover; cook on low setting for 10 to 12 hours or high setting for 5 - 6 hours. Place cabbage on top for last hour of cooking.
