Yield - about 3 dozen
1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 Tbs sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
Preheat oven to 375º F. In medium bowl, beat butter with electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add 1 cup sugar, baking soda and cream of tartar; beat until blended.
Add egg and vanilla; beat until blended. Beat in flour until well-blended. Chill dough 1 hour.
In small cup, combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture to coat. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375º F for 10 or 11 minutes or until edges are golden.
Great warm!!
