Old-Fashioned Green Beans
6 bacon strips, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 lbs fresh green beans, ends snipped
3 Tbs brown sugar
1/2 cup water
In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp-tender (about 5 minutes). Add beans, brown sugar, and water. Stir gently.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until beans are done to desired tenderness.
