    cookware, 2-quart pan microwave safe and ovenproof such as pyrex


    List of Ingredients

    tablespoons butter or margarine

    2
    tablespoons finely chopped onion

    2
    tablespoons flour

    1/2
    teaspoon salt

    1/4
    teaspoon pepper

    2
    cups milk

    8
    oz. pasteurized prepared cheese product, cut up

    1 1/2
    cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

    1
    package (8 oz.) macaroni, cooked and drained

    Paprika

    Tomato wedges and fresh parsley

    PREHEAT oven to 350° F.

    PLACE butter in pan; cover with wax paper. Microwave on HIGH power 20 to 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Add onion; cover and microwave on HIGH power 1 minute or until onion is softened. Add flour, salt and pepper; stir until smooth. Microwave on HIGH 30 seconds or until heated. Blend in milk with a spoon or whisk. Microwave on HIGH 5 to 6 minutes, stirring after every minute, until mixture is thickened and smooth.

    REMOVE pan from microwave. Add cheese product and Cheddar cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Stir in cooked macaroni. Sprinkle with paprika. Place pan on a cookie sheet.

    BAKE 25 to 30 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Use supporting cookie sheet to remove pan from oven; allow pan to cool several minutes on cookie sheet before lifting pan by handles. Garnish with tomato wedges and parsley.
