    Chicken in a Sweet and Sour Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • Carnation evaporated milk
    • Salt and pepper, garlic salt
    • 1/2 cup peeled carrots in small chunks
    • 1/2 cup green pepper in 1 inch pieces
    • 1/2 cup well-drained pineapple chunks
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/3 cup ketchup
    • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
    • 3 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    • 1 Tbsp. hot oil from deep-fryer


    Instructions


    1. Put carrots in small saucepan with small amount of water. Bring to boil and 2 minutes, then add green pepper. After a few seconds, before water boils again, drain vegetables and rinse thoroughly in cold water.

    2. Add pineapple. Put next 5 ingredients and 2/3 cup water. In saucepan and bring to a boil, add vinegar.

    3. Blend cornstarch and 1/3 cup water and stir into mixture.

    4. Cook stirring until thickened. Add oil and vegetables, pineapple mixture.
